We’re writing to Working America members (an association of 4.3 million pro-labor voters) as part of the only persuasion campaign that has been shown consistently to work. We’re not asking these persuadable likely voters to vote – we’re asking them to make healthcare access
their top voting issue. One successful persuasion letter can have a greater impact than two successful turnout letters. It’s like sending two letters for the price of one!
To complete a letter, you will hand write the recipient’s name at the top of the letter, sign your name at the end, and provide a brief (2-3 sentence) personal statement about healthcare. Put the completed letter in the envelope, hand address it, and place the stamps provided on the envelopes. THEN RETURN THEM TO ME, do not mail. I will mail your letters in mid October when directed to do so by the Working America Campaign for maximum impact.
Packets cost $24.00 each, including tax and postage. Let me know if costs are a problem for you. I can help.
You have 2 choices to participate:
IN PERSON: Please join me at my home in Scarborough for a letter writing party on Saturday September 28th at 4pm, simple vegetarian dinner, soup and bread will be provided.
OR on your own. You can come to my house and pick up a packet to do on your own (each packet takes 1-2 hours to complete depending on how much you choose to write). I can also drop a packet by for you to complete and then return to me. The packets need to be at my house by October 8th at the latest.
