Swing Blue Alliance is the largest all-volunteer Democratic grassroots organization headquartered in Massachusetts. Our mission is to protect our democracy, work on competitive local and national elections, and strengthen the Democratic party at the grassroots level.
Working in collaboration with organizations on the ground in swing states, we design, implement and measure actions that are helpful, impactful, and non-duplicative. We empower local organizers around the nation, build engaged community networks, and amplify winning Democratic strategies.
All-volunteer community – We are all fueled by our dedication to saving democracy from the grassroots level, which means we respect the time we are all putting into the organization and care deeply about each other as friends and peers. No one at Swing Blue is paid. We’re a community that just wants to make a difference.
Work with on-the-ground organizations – We create programs that connect you directly with on-the-ground organizations in swing states. These partners are critical to our success as a Democratic organization, they provide local knowledge and training and we provide the programs and volunteers to supercharge their efforts.
Rooted in research – We study the effectiveness of our programs with randomized control trials so we can ensure the effectiveness of our campaigns. We also partner with groups like the Field Leaders Research Network to share findings and discuss best practices.
Ease of volunteering – We ensure our programs are built to make volunteering simple. We create technologies, processes, and tools that our volunteers want to use. We’re also focused on training and educating our volunteer base, so we can grow together.
We use evidence-based research to design volunteer-powered programs that most effectively support campaigns and organizers.
Voter Registration – We help local Democratic allies target key precincts and coordinate volunteers to register voters via postcards and in-person voter registration
Volunteer Recruitment – Our phone banks help organizations recruit and re-engage volunteers to strengthen Democratic efforts in their communities.
Voter Phone Banking – The Swing Blue Alliance phone bank team listens to voters, introduces candidates and helps with the mechanics of voting. Some of our phone banks involve message testing and other research.
Mail Campaigns – The Swing Blue Alliance mail campaign team works collaboratively with on-the-ground organizations and intermediate hosts to create mail campaigns that range from 10-100K letters.
Marketing & Advertising – We help campaigns and grassroots groups craft messaging and promote actions to our community through content creation, social media, event coordination, and targeted ads to reach key voters and volunteers.
Fundraising – Swing Blue Alliance helps campaigns and grassroots groups raise funds by organizing events, coordinating donor outreach, and promoting small-dollar donation drives.
