Here’s a chance to work side by side with other volunteers, and write letters in person. The owners of Grape Leaf Restaurant in Newton Highlands have graciously offered their space for us to do this important work. Come for part or all of the three hours (9 am to noon).
Please bring your own stamps (25 first class stamps are needed for each packet of 25 letters).
No food purchase is expected, but the kitchen opens around 11 am if you wish to get food.
There is seating for about 12 people indoors. If the weather is nice, there is also ample outdoor seating. Or, if you’d prefer, you can just pick up your packets and take them home.
We’re writing to Working America members (an association of 4.3 million pro-labor voters) as part of the only persuasion campaign that has been shown consistently to work. We’re not asking these persuadable likely voters to vote – we’re asking them to make healthcare access
their top voting issue. One successful persuasion letter can have a greater impact than two successful turnout letters. It’s like sending two letters for the price of one!
To complete a letter, you will hand write the recipient’s name at the top of the letter, sign your fist name at the end, and provide a brief (2-3 sentence) personal statement about healthcare. Put the completed letter in the envelope, hand address it, and place a first class stamp on it. Return
completed letters to us.
EACH PACKET HAS 25 LETTERS. TWO PACKETS ARE 50 LETTERS.
Packets cost $5.70 each.
