Here’s a chance to work side by side with other volunteers, and write letters in person. The owners of Grape Leaf Restaurant in Newton Highlands have graciously offered their space for us to do this important work. Come for part or all of the three hours. Please bring your own stamps (25 first class stamps are needed for each packet of 25 letters).
No food purchase is expected, but the kitchen opens around 11 am if you wish to get food.
Here’s information about what we are doing:
We’re writing to Working America members (an association of 4.3 million pro-labor voters) as part of the only persuasion campaign that has been shown consistently to work. We’re not asking these persuadable likely voters to vote – we’re asking them to make healthcare access
their top voting issue. One successful persuasion letter can have a greater impact than two successful turnout letters. It’s like sending two letters for the price of one!
To complete a letter, you will hand write the recipient’s name at the top of the letter, sign your name at the end, and provide a brief (2-3 sentence) personal statement about healthcare. Put the completed letter in the envelope, hand address it, and place a first class stamp on it.
Packets cost $5.70 each. Each packet contains 25 letters. Please bring your own stamps (25 first class stamps per packet).
