The most important thing we can do in Pennsylvania to win the election is to register new voters. And where do you find young unregistered voters all in one place at the same time? At college campuses during the first week of classes.
We are partnering with Project 26 PA, a terrific group that is already well recognized on PA campuses as ambassadors of civic engagement and voter registration. Their goal is to register 10-12,000 students before the election and they need all the help we can offer. By 8/28 they had registered 5,000 new PA College voters! During Welcome Week (Aug 19-23) Swing Blue Alliance registered ~710 college voters, about 45% of the total students registered at the colleges where we were present.
You can sign up here to go to the main campus of Penn State in State College, PA , a huge college with ~46,000 undergraduates in the center of PA.
We will be working closely with our partner, Project 26 PA, who will provide all the supplies and whose Organizers will direct our efforts.
To ensure that you are well trained and will be successful, we ask all volunteers to sign up for a 90-minute class on September 9th at 12:30 – 2 PM. You can sign up HERE.
Being welcomed on these campuses is a BIG DEAL. Don’t miss this golden opportunity! When your grandchildren ask what you did to preserve Democracy in 2024, you will definitely have a story to tell.
