SBA Newsletter Reaches Bicentennial Milestone

The very first Swing Blue Alliance newsletter was a simple list of activist events in the Greater Boston area, sent on June 11 2018 to 82 supporters. Now, issue #200 is being sent to over 15,000, and our awesome activist community hosts way too many events to list in one place.

Our goal for all newsletter issues is to make it easy for volunteers to find ways to turn swing states blue.  With thanks to all our readers, we've prepared a little glimpse into the creation of the newsletter, from issue 1 to issue 200.

Join Swing Blue Alliance at the Indivisible Mass Coalition "IndivisiGather" event on Sunday June 26 at Clark University in Worcester.

Socialize, enjoy lunch, share ideas, get inspired and commit to do the work that it takes to make your vision a reality in November and beyond.  Hear keynote speaker Ezra Levin, Indivisible Co-founder & Co-Executive Director and meet activist groups from across the state.

Sign up on the  link below and stop by the Swing Blue Alliance table to pick up your free Swing Blue Alliance  "Campaign Like it's 2024" T-shirt as our thank-you for supporting local activism.

Sun, Jun 26 @ 12 pm - 4 pm EDT

Join us for canvassing on Saturday, June 25th and have a chance to meet and talk with Rep. Chris Pappas in his hometown of Manchester. Our neighbors in NH need our help defending Rep. Chris Pappas and Sen. Maggie Hassan's seats; both will be in very competitive races.  Democrats have been winning races all over NH in 2021 and 2022 - let’s keep the momentum going!

Sat, June 25 @ 10 am to 1 pm EDT

Help Support NC State Senator
Sydney Batch

Join the Sister District Project and local NC activists for a fundraising event with NC State Senator Sydney Batch, with special guest appearance from NC State Representative Ricky Hurtado.

Supporting Senator Batch now is a great investment heading into key US Senate and Presidential races in 2024.

100% of our donations will go directly to help Sydney hire talent and build a winning campaign.

Mon, June 27 @  8  pm EDT (5 pm PT)

Our Partners' Events

Shout-out to all who attended the June 11 March for our Lives rallies in Boston and around the country! As young activist Justin Meszler (from Sharon) said at the Boston rally, "This time can be different. Today, hundreds of thousands of people are marching across the country, demanding action on gun violence. And my generation, the generation that has lived through active shooter drills, through school shootings, is growing up. And we’re leading the charge."

Learning Corner

Using Facebook Groups can help you recruit new audiences for your events and grow the influence of your group. In this training, you will:

  • See how a local group is using Facebook to effectively advertise their grassroots volunteer opportunities/events
  • Learn how to effectively share your experiences at rallies/other events
  • Discover how to create event invitations and monitor who has RSVP’d to your event
  • Practice using Facebook Groups to share your events with like-minded grassroots activists

Thurs June 23 @ 5 pm EDT

Learning Corner sessions are co-hosted by Indivisible Acton Area, Swing Blue Alliance, and Indivisible Mass Coalition in collaboration with volunteers at the MAssachusetts Grassroots Information Center, a Slack workspace for exchanging information, encouraging connections among groups, and building activist momentum across the state. Join the News-MAGIC Slack space today.
