2023: Building on What Works

Here is what we've learned so far as Swing Blue Alliance plans new initiatives for 2023:

  • Targets: We need a balance between marquee races and critical down-ballot races. Also, it's important to engage with innovation even as we organize actions that have worked in the past.
  • Partners: Relationships with local partners in swing states are key. Helping county Democratic parties build out effective field organizations for 2024 is a high priority.
  • Volunteers: Democracy depends on communities of citizens working together. We need to make sure our awesome volunteers are well-supported and that Swing Blue Alliance is transparent and inclusive.

Do you have an idea or an initiative that you'd like to brainstorm with us about? Let us know on our Strategy Survey and we will get back to you right away to talk through your vision and/or help you decide the best ways to be involved.

Wisconsin Supreme Court

In 2020, the Wisconsin Supreme Court came within one vote of overturning the presidential election results. The court currently has a 4-3 Republican majority. This spring, we can flip the court to Democratic control.

The top two candidates of the four who are running in the Feb 21 primary will go on to the April 4 general election regardless of party. Let's get to work!

Swing Blue Alliance has been working with the Wisconsin Dems, in collaboration with Indivisible Northampton, and we now have terrific phone bank scripts! Join us to help Wisconsin Democrats win this "election that carries bigger policy stakes than any other contest in America in 2023." (New York Times)

Mondays @ 5pm - 7pm

Indivisible Phone Banks to Wisconsin will be

Thursdays @ 6pm - 8pm, starting Feb 9

MassDems Organizing Hub

The Massachusetts Democrats host a weekly virtual Organizing Hub, which currently is making calls for the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. Join your fellow Dems in MA on Sundays.

Sundays @ 4pm - 6pm

Swing Blue Intern Carla Marin Speaks of Politics and Pride

Volunteer Natasha Butler-Rahman and intern Carla Marin understand how important it is for Latinx Americans to be present and heard in the political scene in the US. Here, you can read Natasha's interview with Carla, who explains eloquently why voting and political participation are important to her.

Natasha interviewed Carla in Spanish, and you can read Natasha's English translation immediately following.
