Comparative research

We are aware of only 2 studies that have compared the effectiveness of traditional canvassing with short visits versus deep canvassing with longer visits within the same study, which is the most sound way of investigating if the latter makes more impact, as some have proposed. Both studies are at the Analyst Institute, thus not available for general viewing. One reason for the lack of such studies is that traditional canvassing has been used for both GOTV and persuasion, whereas deep canvassing typically focuses on persuasion. (Newby, R.)
