2022 Midterm Results 

As a critical battleground state, Pennsylvania has the ability to sway the outcome of national elections, making the races for governor and US Senate closely watched by political analysts and the media. Winning these races in Pennsylvania would not only help Democrats maintain a strong presence in the state, but it would also give them a critical edge in the fight to control the US Senate.

Swing Blue Alliance, the largest Democratic grassroots organization headquartered in Massachusetts, played a key role in supporting Democrats in the swing state. We worked closely with 10 partner organizations to conduct mail campaigns, phone banking, and canvassing efforts. Through our mail campaigns, we sent nearly 200,000 mail pieces, including voter protection materials and mail ballot applications. We also conducted a ballot chase campaign to ensure that every eligible voter had the opportunity to cast their ballot. In addition to our mail efforts, we made 10,000 phone calls to encourage voters to head to the polls. Finally, we organized a GOTV campaign that resulted in 4,220 conversation with voters, including helping eleven voters who couldn’t make it to the polls.

Thanks in part to the efforts of organizations like Swing Blue Alliance, Democrats were able to secure victories in both the governor and US Senate races in Pennsylvania and squeeze out a narrow majority in the PA House of Representatives.  Josh Shapiro was elected as the new governor, while John Fetterman won a seat in the US Senate. These victories were crucial for Democrats, as they helped to solidify their control of the Senate and maintain a strong presence in the governor’s mansion and the state legislature. Our efforts to engage and mobilize voters played a vital role in these victories, and we are proud of the work we did to support Democrats in the state.
