A Wowie Zowie Frontline Update

frontline update

Over 160 people participated in the February 24 SBA Frontline Update. In just 30 minutes, SBA leaders explained what we plan to do in 2024 and how we’re going to do it.

The strategy is clear: Register, persuade, and turn out voters. Get Dems into local and state-wide seats to protect voting rights, redistricting, abortion rights, and education.

Goal: Register 40K More Voters in Mecklenburg County

register 40K voters in Mecklenburg county

Two standout voter registration groups, NCAPRI and ACE, are looking for support for their NC operations. Donate and hear directly from former MA Governor Deval Patrick, as well as from leaders of key North Carolina organizations. They’ll make it clear why Mecklenburg County is so important to the country as a whole, as well as what we can do to drive up voter registration in this key district.

Your tax-deductible donation will help these two established organizations -- which are active in the Black, Latinx, and youth communities -- to fully staff and fund their voter registration operations from now until the October deadline. These groups have proven track records going back over a decade:

  • North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Institute (NCAPRI) is a Black-led organization that consistently runs the largest voter registration programs in NC. They have collected more than 160,000 registrations since 2016. In 2023, they registered 7,000 voters in Mecklenburg County.
  • Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE) works at the nexus of youth, climate, and democracy. In 2024, ACE will run its largest ever field canvass program to register young, diverse voters in Mecklenburg County.

Wed, Mar 6 @ 7:30 - 8:30 pm EST

Co-hosts include All In for North Carolina, Building Bridges for America Action Fund, Carolina Forward, Chop Wood Carry Water, Indivisible Mad River Valley, Lean Left Vermont, Metro West Blue and Beyond, Register And Vote North Carolina, Saving, Democracy, Senate Circle, Swing Blue Alliance, Swing Left Peninsula, and 31st Street Swing Left.

Swing Blue Alliance Giving Circle Is Off to a Flying Start

SBA Giving Circle State Selection Night

On February 15, Swing Blue Alliance kicked off a Giving Circle with The States Project. Your donations have already allowed us to reach half our goal of raising $25K!

We're collecting funds to support Democratic candidates who -- as state legislators -- will protect the constitutional right to vote and will set public policy on reproductive rights, gun safety, clean air and water, and quality public education.

Now, come this special event, Swing Blue Decides, where you can contribute and help us determine where our funds will go. At this special event, you'll hear activists Jeff Blum (NC), Steve Schear (AZ), and Tom Sander (PA) explain why they think the money we raise should go to their state.

Whether you donate now to the Swing Blue Alliance Giving Circle or you're planning to donate on March 11, you'll be eligible to cast a vote at this fast-paced and fun event and put your dollars where they count!
