Holding onto our Senate majority requires the re-election of Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, considered one of the most vulnerable Senators in ’24.
And Ohio is one of those ‘purple’ states, that Andrea Chalupa of Gaslit Nation calls ‘hostage states’, because the extreme gerrymandering by Republicans has muzzled so many Democratic voices that in a fairly evenly divided state (46 – 54 Dem-GOP), Republicans control 67% of the seats in the State House, and a whopping 79% in the State Senate!
But Ohioans are fighting back! Just this past summer, in a stunning pair of victories, voters defeated a Republican attempt to make citizen-led ballot initiatives virtually impossible, and voted to enshrine abortion rights into their state constitution!
Republicans are taking notice, and doing their best to keep rigging their hold on power. Now, the GOP Secretary of State is doing yet another purging of voters off the rolls – fewer voters means less democracy and low turnout is always good for the GOP!
Help us re-register these purged Dems, so the people of Ohio will be able to use their voices and their votes to re-elect Sherrod Brown & protect democracy in Ohio and our country!
