Join me for Swing Blue Alliance’s new and innovative postcard campaign to increase youth voter registration in Ohio. Ohio has become a surprise battleground in the midterms, with highly competitive senate and governor races representing major pickup opportunities for Democrats. Yet, its youth voter registration rate is among the lowest in the country, and its officials are changing rules and purging voter rolls as part of a larger voter suppression effort.
This campaign tackles one of the hardest challenges in electoral politics: finding people who aren’t registered to vote. We’ll be sending postcards to reliable Democratic voters with unregistered young adults in their households to encourage them to register and to check each family member’s voter registration status.
The postcards are easy: write 7 words and affix an address label and stamp. 1 packet of 25 postcards costs $6 (including tax). You will need to buy postcard stamps (65 cents each) separately. Mail your completed postcards anytime before August 28 from anywhere you want.
Signup for the pickup date and number of packets you want (and consider doing more than 1 packet). You will receive a calendar invitation from “Swing Blue Alliance via Mobilize” (check your spam folder) with pickup and payment info including my address in Sharon, MA.
