Swing Blue Alliance volunteers often wonder whether the voters we target are going to receive multiple postcards and letters. The answer is yes, they will. But that’s not a bad thing!
Candidates work hard to build relationships with their voters. We amplify their voices in the communities they serve by receiving voter addresses and providing the volunteer effort that you all supply.
Well-timed postcard mailings featuring the candidate picture and message have a cumulative positive effect, helping candidates reach out to Democratic voters. Our follow up – and follow through – with campaigns like those in North Carolina, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania have produced unprecedented returns.
Our work matters.
Last week, we mentioned that our partner committees and campaigns asked that we double our mailings. Your work with your groups produced a great response:
This week, we doubled our mailings.
Can we do more? Our shared work through Swing Blue Alliance affirms again and again that the answer is YES!
This week, let’s educate our volunteers about the part we all play in Democratic campaigns. Reach out through emails and phone calls and invite others to appreciate the part that they play in getting us all to a successful election.
Lastly, when his official portrait was unveiled last week in the White House, former President Barack Obama gave a moving speech on democracy. He spoke of his tenure as President as part of a marathon. In succession, each President works as hard as they can, then hands off their work to the next elected.
Our work is a marathon as well. We are each working full speed to this goal: assuring that our democracy, with its flaws and promise, is assured in the midterm elections this November.
Our goals are clear. Let’s complete our commitments.
Our campaigns in NH, NC, and PA are up on the eStore. Let’s lean in together.
