52 Days and Counting: Riding Kamala's Debate Tailwind to Victory |
Harris absolutely crushed it at the debate on Tuesday. And Taylor Swift's endorsement drove more than 300,000 people to Vote.gov for information on voter registration! |
Now it's up to us to harness that enthusiasm and turn it into swing state votes, for Harris/Walz and for the congressional candidates who will stand up for Democrats' values. |
LET'S WIN PENNSYLVANIA |
Jessica Craven to Speak at Power Up PA Fundraiser |
|
Blogger and activist extraordinaire Jessica Craven is the keynote speaker at Power Up Pennsylvania on Monday, September 23 at 8 PM EDT. Join us to meet PA candidates Janelle Stelson and Ashley Ehasz, who are running to flip two US House seats, and Sara Agerton and Anna Payne, who are running to flip two seats in the Pennsylvania House. Help us meet our goal of raising $50,000 for these candidates. |
You know how crucial PA is for the presidential race and how important it is to take back Democratic control of the US House and prevent Republicans from taking control of the Pennsylvania House. These four dynamic candidates will tell you why your help can have maximum impact. |
The sooner you give, the sooner these candidates can put your donation to work! |
Make Calls to Flip PA-10 |
Janelle Stelson is running to defeat one of the most extreme MAGA Republicans in the House, Scott Perry. This race could well be decided by a very small number of votes. Help Stelson turn this MAGA seat Blue! |
Sundays until the election @ 4 - 6 pm EDT |
Meet PA Voters Where They Are |
The house that Swing Blue Alliance rented for the summer and into fall in Philadelphia has become something of a hub for those in the area who want to volunteer. If you're in or near Philly or have friends in the area, you can find a wealth of volunteer opportunities on this Link Tree (created with the Linktree app; see the end of this newsletter for info on this app): |
Reaching out to voters beyond the big cities is crucial to a Dem victory in Pennsylvania. Bucks County is the quintessential purple district. Join us in talking to persuadable voters and turning out supporters. Note: It is not necessary to come on Monday or to stay for a week. Sign up for the week, and you'll be able to let us know which days you can to come for. |
New: Spanish Language Phone Banks and Canvassing |
The Latino population of Reading PA is 70% and growing. Swing Blue Alliance is teaming up with the Harris Campaign to kick off canvassing and Spanish-language phone banks in Reading. Mobilizing these voters to register and vote will be crucial to securing a win in PA. |
Canvassing begins on Sept. 28 as part of PA’s Weekend of Action and will run until Election Day. Spanish language skills are helpful but not required. Assistance with local housing possible for those staying two or more nights. |
If you speak Spanish but can't travel to canvass, join our new Spanish-language phone bank. Spanish proficiency is required, but no prior experience is needed. Training provided. |
Wednesdays, starting Sept 28 @ 6pm –8pm |
Issue-Oriented Letters to PA Voters |
Swing Blue Alliance, and specifically our mail campaign to send letters to Working America members in Pennsylvania, was featured this week in a radio interview with Swing Blue's Janet Nelson and Sarah Pascarella. |
These letters, which focus on issues rather than on particular candidates, are backed by years of rigorous testing and stand out amongst mail campaigns by continuing to prove themselves effective at persuading voters. |
There's still time to order your letters. The letters will be mailed in October, and then Working America will follow up with the voters just before the election. |
The more mail hosts we have, the more letters we can send. If you're ready to take the step from writer to host, we'll give you all the training and info you need. |
LET'S WIN WISCONSIN |
Because Wisconsin has many volunteers and a well-organized state Dem organization, it wasn't on the original list of states where Swing Blue Alliance thought we could have a significant impact. But we now have an opportunity to help get rid of an extremist Wisconsin Republican in Congress, in a promising but under-resourced race. |
Democrat Rebecca Cooke is a small business owner and nonprofit leader, whose race could be decided by just a handful of votes. Let's help her win the seat away from Republican extremist Derrick Van Orden. |
LET'S WIN NEW YORK |
Fall foliage road trip! Knock on doors in the scenic Hudson Valley to help Josh Riley flip the Congressional seat in NY-19. This is the sort of race where every single vote counts, so every single volunteer definitely counts! |
Can't go canvass yourself? You can make calls to recruit local canvassers. Pat Ryan's re-election in NY-18 is key to making sure Harris has the Democratic Congress she needs. |
Tuesdays @ 5 - 7 pm EDT |
LET'S WIN NORTH CAROLINA |
Thanks to the volunteers who have been making calls to North Carolina all summer, NC has built a team of local canvassers. North Carolina is IN PLAY, and they need all the help on the ground that they can get. Help them move NC from "in play" to "all in for Democrats." |
Wednesdays @ 6 - 8 pm ET |
Sundays @ 6 - 8 pm ET |
Join All in for NC's monthly meeting to hear how the ground game is racing forward and how the layers of grassroots and local Dem campaign organizations come together under the Kamala Harris "Coordinated Campaign." NC State Legislature candidate Beth Helfrich will give an update on the work NC volunteers are doing to reach potential voters. |
Mon, Sept 16 @ 4 pm - 5 pm EDT |
LET'S WIN ARIZONA |
Join us canvassing and registering voters in Arizona with other Swing Blue Alliance volunteers. Sign up here, fill out the form you will receive in reply, and we will get in touch with you with more information about logistics and training. |
You can come any day of the week; Monday is the launch date for each weekly session. |
WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER |
Get together with like-minded people to write letters, make calls, and learn about other actions we take to protect our democracy. |
