Democracy persists thanks to all of you. You donated, organized, called and texted voters, knocked on doors, and persuaded friends and family that every vote matters. |
Thank you! |
We Need Raphael Warnock in the Senate! |
|
Raphael Warnock is one of the strongest voices in Washington fighting for voting rights, reproductive freedom, and justice. As Martha Shockey of Indivisible GA explained at this week's Swing Blue All-Volunteer Roundup, we need Warnock in the Senate to strengthen our position for 2024, to allow Dems to confirm more judicial nominees, and to keep a truly unfit MAGA puppet out of Washington. |
Shockey also emphasized how essential our efforts will be in this very short window for the Dec. 6 run-off. Time is of the essence, and Georgia Republicans are doing all they can to suppress the vote. |
Can You Travel to Georgia? |
Knocking on doors is the most effective way to turn out voters. The Georgia Dems welcome anyone who can travel to Georgia to help out. Just fill out their intake form for out-of-state volunteers and they'll get back to you right away. |
Once you've completed the intake form, you can also email Alix Smullin to team up with others going from the Boston area. |
If you can't travel to Georgia on such short notice, please join the second-best way to connect with voters. Massachusetts activists have organized phone banks for every day this week except Thursday (Thanksgiving) and Friday. The Georgia Democrats have phone banks at multiple times every day between now and the election. |

Warnock Needs Your Language Skills! |
Asian Americans Advancing Justice has put out an urgent call for speakers of Vietnamese, Korean, Urdu, Mandarin and/or Hindi to help with phone banking and other voter contact activities. |
There is also a need for Spanish and Portuguese speakers. If you can use your language skills to help the Warnock campaign, fill out the volunteer info form: |

As soon as it was clear that there would be a run-off in Georgia, Swing Blue Alliance organizers sprang into action. In just days, they worked with Forsyth County Dems to print up 10,700 letters with critical information about voting deadlines and options. |
More than 250 volunteers stepped up immediately to send all 10,700 letters! |
This week, Swing Blue Alliance is partnering with Fulton County and DeKalb County Dems. These letters must be sent right away, as the deadline for requesting absentee ballots is Nov. 28. |
Please note: Our volunteers are so awesomely eager that you may find some of these locations sold-out. We're grateful for everyone who wants to help! |
How SBA Designs Mail Campaigns |
Sending postcards can be a great way to connect with voters - But how do we make sure our mail campaigns are boosting voter turnout?
|
SBA coordinates closely with county Democratic parties. SBA mailings supplement on-the-ground activities in crucial districts. We collaborate with our local partners on messaging, and the local Democratic parties provide targeted mailing lists. Usually, the mailings go to people who vote for Democrats but don't vote in every election.
|
SBA mail campaigns pay attention to presentation as well as content. Official looking mail has a higher impact. Useful information, such as dates, hours and locations for voting, draws voters' attention more than vague exhortations to vote. Mild “social pressure” is known to motivate voters, so our mail uses messages such as “Join your neighbors so your voice will be heard.”
|
SBA studies the results. You spend hours of your time working to help Democrats get elected. SBA uses data to make sure your energy and enthusiasm is driving an impact.
|
Our Mission Swing Blue Alliance (formerly Swing Left Greater Boston) is the largest all-volunteer Democratic grassroots organization headquartered in Massachusetts. We use proven methods to protect our Democracy, work on competitive local and national elections, and strengthen the Democratic party at the grassroots level. |
Your contribution will help fund the operations of this volunteer-produced newsletter, which goes out to over 15K subscribers. |
