SBA is partnering with Working America to send thousands of letters to its members in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania.
In 2003, Karen started Working America at the AFL-CIO, reaching out to unorganized working people in working class communities across the country. While the organization contacts members throughout the year, a key touch point is now -- just before the election -- to focus on a specific topic, in this case healthcare.
In campaign lingo, canvassing is considered “field” work, and here is an update “from the field”! We had a great weekend canvassing in NY-19, just over the border along the Mass Pike. We had a very high contact rate and talked with many low propensity/undecided voters. Most didn’t know Josh Riley is running for Congress (in one of the closest races in the country!), so we had the opportunity to introduce him.
SBA volunteers chatted and debriefed over two dinners and saw some of the evening sights in the Berkshires. All our home stays were wonderful, and everyone enjoyed seeing the rolling hills and beautiful settings. We’d love to have you join us!
