In Ohio, an estimated 150,000 people turn 18 every year, yet voter registration rates for youth are among the lowest nationwide. Recent voter suppression tactics in that state are purging voter rolls, and increasingly complicated processes throw up barriers to even trying to register. With critical US Senate and Governor races and several key Congressional Districts, registering Democrats is an important step in winning in OH in 2026!
Swing Blue Alliance has tackled the difficult task of finding unregistered voters and designed an innovative project that takes advantage of available data on strongly Democratic, high turnout voters to reach parents with young adults in the household. Our postcard empowers the parents and gives them a tool to help their children register and to check on their own registration status.
Postcards will come in packets of 25 and will cost $5/packet to me – cash, check or Venmo @Alix-Smullin. You will write a short handwritten message, add the address label and a stamp and mail by July 30.
