Twenty to forty volunteers will show drivers a sequence of twenty signs that show different symptoms of authoritarianism. In a bit of political theater, each person stands grim-faced and still — no waving, no smiling — in keeping with the seriousness of the charges. Sign-holders will be spaced well apart so drivers will have a moment to think about each sign before encountering the next.
