Last week, the Super State Spotlight described the major issues that Democrats in Pennsylvania face. This week, we’ll look at their goals and how we can help PA attain them.
|
Flip Pennsylvania Blue in 2020
|
Democrats took over the Pennsylvania House and Senate in November. Now it’s time to flip Pennsylvania Blue at the presidential, congressional, and legislative levels. Bob Scheier, Ann Eldridge, and Bob Master spent time in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley during the November 2019 elections. They went door to door, worked the polls, and participated in face-to-face meetings with local leaders, laying a solid groundwork for collaboration with local Dems and LatinX organizations there.
Bob and Ann will facilitate a Pennsylvania focus group at the Together for 2020 statewide activism conference today (Dec 7) in Worcester. Massachusetts volunteers working on swinging the Keystone state will make a plan to communicate and coordinate on 2020 PA activities.
Volunteers working on Maine, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and Iowa will also form groups at the conference.

There’s no time to Slack Off! If you want to take back our country, it’s time to get ON Slack.
|
Be in the Know with Swing Left Slack
|
Want to listen in on what goes on behind the scenes at Swing Left? Want to be part of what goes on behind the scenes at Swing Left? Then, it’s time to get on Slack, a well-organized chat room (think water cooler gathering) that allows you to ask questions and get answers fast – without wading through piles of email.
To join Swing Left Slack, fill out this form.
Here’s what Swing Left’s Slack workspace looks like:
There are four main things to pay attention to:
- The name of the Slack workspace
- The list of channels you’ve chosen to join
- The list of people with whom you’ve communicated directly
- The chat window
- The place where you write messages to a channel or specific person
There are two great progressive workspaces for you to join. Swing Left Support Slack is open to anyone who wants to unseat Trump, flip the Senate, and take back key state legislatures. Indivisible MA Slack is open to any activist from Massachusetts working on similar Indivisible-aligned projects.
So, use the form to join either of these Slack workspaces. Then, visit Slack on the web. Wander around. Put in your two cents. Whenever you’re ready, you can download the desktop or mobile app, as well.
