As we approach a critical juncture in the 2024 election, our work together is more vital than ever. The fight to take back the House is in full swing, and with only 4 seats needed to flip the House and a number of super-close races, our field work can actually win this for Democrats. Join us for a special edition of the Swing Blue Alliance Frontline Update on Saturday, August 24, from 10 to 10:30 AM Eastern, where we’ll dive into how you can play a pivotal role in this fight.

This month’s update is laser-focused on the strategies that will help us reclaim the House. Here’s what we have in store:

• The Criticality of the House: Susan Labandibar from Swing Blue Alliance will take us back to the urgency of the 2020 election, when securing a Democratic trifecta depended on two special elections in Georgia. She’ll remind us of the determination and action that led to one of the most exciting moments in our history. This time, with no runoffs, everything will be decided on November 5th. Whether Trump or Harris wins, we need the House just as badly. And the road to the House leads right through New York.

• The Road to a Democratic House Majority: Nate Munson-Palumbo, Deputy Organizing Director for the NY Dems, will discuss why NY-19 and NY-18 are essential battlegrounds and how we can make the biggest impact.

• Canvassing and Phone Banking in New York: Paula Joseph from Swing Blue Alliance will share insights on our canvassing and phone banking efforts in these key districts, what we’ve accomplished so far, and how you can get involved.

This isn’t just another meeting; it’s an opportunity to be part of a movement that will shape the future of our democracy. Your participation is essential to our success.

In PA-10, you can help Janelle Stelson unseat Scott Perry, one of the most extreme MAGA Republicans in Congress. 

Stelson is an impressive candidate, has a strong campaign team, and is having great success raising money. Recent polling shows that the race is getting too close to call. Let’s close the gap!

Pat Ryan for NY-18 

Republicans hope that they can take the seat of  Pat Ryan in the purple district of NY-18. Ryan is a moderate Democrat who's a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice caucus, while his opponent, Alison Esposito, thinks the Supreme Court was right to overturn Roe v. Wade. 

Join us to recruit volunteers who can canvass for Pat Ryan. Recent polling shows that the race is tightening up. Don't let Republicans take this seat!

Josh Riley for NY-19

Josh Riley is poised to oust Republican incumbent Marc Molinaro from  the congressional seat in NY-19. This district is just over the MA border. Come canvass with us! This race could be decided by a small number of votes, so your canvassing help will have a real impact.

It's Easy to Host a Letter Party

Our current writing campaign, in partnership with Working America, aims to send 700,000 issue-oriented letters to voters in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania. You can help us reach this goal by becoming a Postcard Host, in time to hold a combination writing and debate watch party. 

The first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9pm EDT. The VP debate between Walz and Vance is Tuesday, October 1. 

You kind of want to watch but know you'll feel like throwing things at the TV. So why not host a letter-writing + debate watch party? When the rhetoric gets infuriating, channel that energy into letters to voters.

Here are the steps, and there are instructions for each one along the way:

• Register as a Postcard Host
• Order letters from the E-Store
• Create and publish your event on Mobilize
• Use Mobilize to monitor sign-ups
• Make sure you have stamps, plenty of pens, and enjoy your party!

Not a party person? Host in your own way. The Working America letters are based on rigorous testing and stand out among mail campaigns for their potential impact. The more hosts we have, the more letters we can send. Click the "Register as a Postcard Host" link, provide your contact info, check 'Distributing Letters/Postcards,’ and a member of our Mail Host Team will follow-up with you.

Not ready to be a host, but just want to pick up a packet or two of letters?

Take action with other activists at your side. Pick your activity -- perhaps texting or phoning or writing -- and help build a team for President Harris.
