So Long, Susan Collins! Issue Canvassing in Southern Maine

Posted on August 2, 2019
Want to help unseat Susan Collins? It’s not too early to start!

Maine Dems are seeking our help with issue canvassing in easy to reach York County. This is door-to-door outreach to gauge voters’ interest in choosing the eventual Dem candidate over Collins so we’ll know where to invest future outreach efforts. The script also asks what issues attract voters to Collins so we can strategically frame our messaging down the road. Unlike candidate canvassing, we’re not trying to convince people to vote a certain way. This is a great way to show people that Maine Dems are interested in what they have to say. If the opportunity presents itself, you can also engage them in a friendly conversation.

We’ve made this opportunity as flexible as possible so you can work it into your summer plans. Do a canvassing shift, then enjoy the beach, grab a seaside meal, or go shopping. Join an existing canvass or go up on your own. Take a friend or, even better, mobilize a few people in your network or grassroots organization to go up together. It’s all up to you. Just follow these steps:

To join an existing canvass, visit https://actionnetwork.org/campaigns/canvassing-hub. If you’re going up as a group, everyone should register.

To go up at your convenience, email cooper@mainedems.org with your dates and number of people in your group.
