We've Changed Our Name - Not Our Mission
|
Celebrating our new name and logo
|
Swing Left Greater Boston started in the spring of 2018 as a small crew helping organizers host "Blue BBQ's" to recruit volunteers who would get active in the fight to Take Back the House. Today, we send newsletters to over 15,000 readers who participated in over 4.7 million actions last year to support democracy.
|
Starting today, we've changed our name to Swing Blue Alliance. Here's what that means.
|
-
Our mission
is still to protect our democracy, strengthen the Democratic party at the grassroots level, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
-
Our method
is still to connect organizers and volunteers to swing state voters. We collaborate with partners, volunteer communities, and Democratic campaigns/committees across the U.S. We will continue to provide support that extends their capabilities beyond what they otherwise would not have the resources to accomplish.
-
Our approach
is still to ensure the effectiveness of our actions. We are one of the only volunteer-led organization with a research team that conducts randomized control studies of our campaigns.
|
Actually, all that’ s changed is our name and logo.
|
The words
Swing
and
Blue
carry the message that we are dedicated to swinging the country blue.
Alliance
recognizes the formal and informal associations we form with local and national groups across the country. In particular, our partnerships with the national Swing Blue and Indivisible organizations, as well as the Indivisible Mass Coalition, empower us to extend our reach and effectiveness.
|
The blue logo with the Democratic party’ s mascot, the Donkey, emphasizes our commitment to Democratic campaigns and causes. The house embodies our work toward unity and inclusivity -- among both individual volunteers and organizations -- all under one roof. And the lightness of spirit represents our hopeful, upbeat, and exuberant approach to our work.

There's a Chance California Will Have a Republican Governor
|
Voting ends Tuesday in California's recall election, where voters are deciding whether or not to remove Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom from office. If he loses, Republican Larry Elder is the most likely candidate to replace him.

Thoughts on the Anniversary of
September 11, 2001
|
Twenty years ago, many of us saw 9/11 as a wakeup call. In the days following the terrorist attacks, some sought revenge, while others saw an opportunity for Americans to commit to being a part of a one-world family. Twenty years later, it has become painfully clear: The world requires a truly inclusive America. Today, we must organize and fight for a world that sees itself as one family.
|
Our Mission
Swing Blue Alliance (formerly Swing Left Greater Boston) is the largest all-volunteer, Democratic grassroots organization headquartered in Massachusetts. We use proven methods to protect our democracy, work on competitive local and national elections, and strengthen the Democratic party at the grassroots level.
