Impact of canvassing on other household members

** Door to door may boost the turnout of voters in a household other than the person to whom the canvasser spoke. It often happens that the person who answers the door is different from the targeted voter, and both can be engaged in conversation, sometimes as well as others in the household. There is also experimental evidence that talking to just one person can generate increased voting by other household members.
