Interns will be working with Swing Blue and our partners to combat disinformation, create social media & communications, protect voters, and other important projects as we head into this election season. COLIN HUMPHRIES
Colin is from Dudley, Massachusetts and is currently majoring in political science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Colin previously worked on Senator Ed Markey’s reelection campaign and volunteered as a member of his town’s democratic committee. During his internship with Swing Blue Alliance, Colin hopes to find creative ways to connect young people with volunteer and advocacy opportunities to repeat the high youth turnout and enthusiasm seen in the 2018 and 2020 election cycles.
ANAAMIKA NAIR
Anaamika Nair (she/her) is a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst studying political science and Afro-American studies. She has been heavily involved on campus, most recently serving as the university’s Deputy Attorney General. Additionally, Anaamika has been a content editor and has published works for HerCampus Media, an online platform geared towards empowering collegiate women, served on the restorative justice task force and has interned with MASSPIRG to work on voter registration outreach. She currently is a board member for the UMass Women into Leadership program and serves on the Afro-American studies undergraduate council. This summer, Anaamika is working as a research and communications intern with Swing Blue Alliance to develop the field research repository of evidence-based best practices for voter interventions and publish blogs related to voter enfranchisement and other socially relevant issues.
CAMERON LABREE
Cameron was born and raised in Middleborough, Massachusetts and is an incoming senior at Colby College. Majoring in government, Cameron has always been fascinated with politics and is particularly interested in foreign policy and relations. He also studies philosophy and anthropology at Colby and has a deep appreciation for writing. Cameron is excited to assist the Swing Blue Alliance with various voter protection initiatives and hopes to motivate other young people in the United States to get more involved in politics. In his free time, Cameron enjoys going on long-distance runs, playing basketball, and hanging with his cats.
PASHA SAHIN
Pasha has lived in Massachusetts all his life but travels and volunteers around the world. He is a rising junior at UMass Amherst majoring in Political Science. A job in the government or for a non-profit is a future career goal of his. This fall, Pasha plans to study abroad in Portugal and hopefully get some political work experience overseas. One day, Pasha dreams to work for the United Nations or at an embassy as a diplomat. He hopes to further enhance his political and civil engagement through this internship by sharing his voice and connecting with the local and state community on issues that matter the most to our Democracy.
JULIA ROSANO
Julia was born and raised in the Boston area and is currently a rising senior at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. She majors in Political Science with a minor in Media, journalism, and digital studies. Julia has used her passion for journalism and politics as staff writer for St. Michael’s school newspaper where she has written pieces about social movements and student government. Julia is excited to make a bigger impact and become more politically active with Swing Blue Alliance.
DAVID ALBUQUERQUE
David is a senior political science student at Lesley University. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, David moved up to the Boston area four years ago for university. After graduation, David hopes to take a year off school and pursue a career in butchery or look into graduate school opportunities. David enjoys reading, sports and spending my days with my girlfriend.
EMMA KASZNAY
Emma is a junior at Suffolk University studying political science. She was born and raised in Middletown, CT before moving to Boston for college. She is passionate about voting access and getting young people involved in elections. At S.B.A., Emma hopes to make a difference in the political world. After college, she aspires to attend law school and continue to advocate for the rights of others.
JULIANA SWARTZ
Juliana is from Boston, Massachusetts, and is a rising senior at Needham High School. She enjoys theater, singing, and playing the piano. After working as a fellow on Jesse Mermell’s 2020 congressional campaign, Juliana has become much more politically active in her community. She is very excited to be interning with the Swing Blue Alliance this summer and is looking forward to helping engage voters with the Democratic Party.
