NEWS ALERT!
If every Dem registered just one Dem
It takes multiple touches to activate a voter
Now, Because October Is Too Late
According to Forbes, “Simplicity and repetition are the most important tools you can use to get your message across in the current climate of information overload.” That means we have to begin the hunt for Democratic voters now, before October’s cross fire of multitudes of door knockers and airwaves full of Republican propaganda.

Now is the only time you can begin the repetition cycle and make your efforts effective. Now is the time to engage low-propensity voters via voter registration, vote by mail, and turning out voters in special and local elections.

All roads lead to PA
Our own Carolyn Fuller, Bill McAvinney, Bob Scheier, and Ann Eldridge (shown with Andrea Koplove, Director of Engagement with Turn PA Blue) knocked on more than 200 doors this weekend.
Don’t Wait Until the General Election to Turn PA Blue
Pennsylvania HD-18 is one of nine seats the Democrats need to win to take control of the Pennsylvania House. Last weekend, Swing Left Greater Boston volunteers We were among 15 local and out-of- state groups that logged more than 150 canvassing shifts over the weekend.

They were there to support Democrat Harold Hayes in the close Pennsylvania House District 18 special election on March 17. The canvassing built momentum for the March 14-15 weekend of action (RSVP here) where we’ll work get out the vote before the March 17 special election.

Republican door hanger scare tactics

With Republican scare tactics like this door hanger, every vote counts.

Come to PA and get out the vote for Harold Hayes.

SUPERSTATE
FLORIDA
enthusiasm overcomes apathy
How the Dems will win.
Don’t Let Apathy Discourage
Volunteers in Florida last week were surprised at the number of people they spoke to who don’t plan to vote. However, our team isn’t discouraged.

Swing Left and other progressive organizations stand by the tenets of “early and often” described in the first article in this newsletter. The more often we touch a possible voter — by postcard, phone, or handshake — the more likely we win another active voter.

MICHIGAN
Help Elect MI Dems
Activists just like you are going to MI
Targeting Change in the MI State House
Swing Left is currently targeting seven districts — five GOP-held seats and two Democratic holds — in the Michigan State House. Four GOP incumbents in target districts are being term-limited out of office, giving Democrats an opportunity to flip the chamber in 2020 and protect the integrity of the Michigan’s independent redistricting process in 2021.

Consider Other Venues for Volunteer Activism
Last June, Janet Singer used her 35th college reunion in June to promote volunteer activism. She and a classmate gave a presentation to about 25 other alums on the Swing Left strategy and actions people can take.

Based on that meeting, her classmates continue to gather in “mini-reunions with a purpose.” They are canvassing, writing letters, and more in North Carolina, Houston, Arizona, and Maine, places they themselves live. There’s so much interest that Janet & Co. are going to do a zoom call presentation for others who couldn’t be there.

Consider using your reunions to get people on the road to Democracy. Contact Janet to learn more.
