"Excellent. informative. motivating."

“Made me want to re-engage in meaningful work to support Democrats.” Sufficiently great that I’ll be doing the deep canvassing training this week!”

That was the response of attendees at the 7/11 monthly meeting of Swing Blue Alliance NH. The meeting featured Executive Council candidate Katherine Harake, who described the extreme actions of the current Council's Republicans. Craig Brown, Executive Director of AmplifyNH followed, outlining results of his group’s survey showing that New Hampshire citizens favor policies embraced by Democrats: tax equity, a clean and healthy environment including renewable energy, and safe legal abortion.

Next month’s meeting on August 1st will feature candidates who have beat long odds and are showing the way to a Blue New Hampshire. Maine State Sen. Chloe Maxmin and her campaign manager, Canyon Woodward, will share what they learned from their recent victories in an extremely rural Republican district. Manuel (Manny) Espitia, a current NH State Representative from Nashua and the head of the New Hampshire Young Democrats will discuss how younger candidates are leading the way in New Hampshire.

Mon, Aug 1 @ 7 pm EDT

What better way to spend a summer day than canvassing for awesome candidates in the nearby scenic swing state of New Hampshire? Join us for a summer weekend of action by canvassing in Manchester on July 30 & 31st, just 100 days out from the election.

Sat. Jul 30 @ 10 am - 1 pm EDT

Sun. Jul 31 @ 10 am - 1 pm EDT

Never canvassed before? No problem. Canvassing 101 will teach you what you need to hit the ground running.

Canvassing's the most effective thing we can do to persuade voters and get out the vote. Give it a try for Democracy! You'll not only make a difference, but you'll be surprised at how rewarding it can be.  In this training you will learn:

  • Canvassing basics including scripts, terminology and canvassing tips
  • How to use the MiniVan app
  • How to register on Mobilize and get paired up with an experienced canvasser

Building on Success with
Volunteers T*B*D*

The Volunteers Taking Back Democracy Calling Corps is dedicated to volunteer recruitment in key states. Started in February 2022 with a group of just 15 people recruiting local volunteers in Pennsylvania, the program has expanded to add volunteer recruiting in North Carolina and New Hampshire.  To date, 80 SBA volunteers have participated, many returning week after week.  Why do they return?  Nearly 20% of our recruiting calls reach an actual person and over half of those conversations reach someone interested in volunteering for their local Democratic organizations.  That has meant that 80 SBA volunteers have so far re-engaged 752 local volunteers in places where it matters the most.

Become a member of the Volunteers T*B*D Calling Corps and reach out to Dem activists in swing states. You’ll be reminding them of how much they matter and how much they can accomplish by rejoining the fight.

North Carolina has one of the three best chances in the U.S. to pick up a U.S. Senate seat for Democrats. In addition, North Carolina is now in the absolute center of the fight to preserve reproductive rights, being one of the few states in the Southeast that still has abortion care post-Roe. But the Republican-dominated North Carolina legislature wants to roll that back and make abortion illegal in NC.

Swing Blue Alliance is working with our partner, All In for NC, and local NC grassroots organizations to recruit boots-on-the-ground volunteers and to support fundraising for key NC candidates.

On Wednesday July 27, from 8:30 - 9:30 pm EST, North Carolina Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Cheri Beasley  and NC House Democratic Leader Robert Reives will join us for a special volunteer recruitment event.

Volunteer recruitment calls are a great way to connect with people who share your desire to take back our democracy. You can join the NC Volunteers T*B*D* phone team on Monday July 18 or any Monday at 4-6 pm.

Wed July 27 @ 8:30 pm EDT

Mondays @ 4 pm - 6 pm EDT

Do you have family members stuck in nonstop bad news cycles and doomsday scrolling?  Friends overwhelmed by unsolicited fundraising calls, emails, texts, and mailers from strangers? Colleagues who may not be able to volunteer, but want to play a part in getting our country back on track?

You may be able to help your friends get unstuck.  Introducing Haley Bash, a fellow political donor and organizer.  She’ll get you started as a donor organizer, helping you give your friends the gift of making smart political donations for the win.

Two ways to take action:

For extroverts: Meet with Haley one-on-one.  In just 15 minutes you can get your questions answered, and figure out next steps that fit with your schedule and goals. Sign up here.

For introverts and everyone else:  Join a group session on 7/18 at noon or 8/16 at 7pm.  Sign up here.

Summer is a great time for canvassing in New Hampshire

Becc O’Brien never thought of herself as an organizer/activist before 2018. Now she leads phonebanks for Moms Demand Action, I-RISE Newburyport, and Swing Blue Alliance to support gun safety, voting rights and registration, and Democratic candidates.

Becc agreed to share her journey in the hope that it might inspire others to see that they too can make a real impact. If you want to take your activism to the next level, Swing Blue Alliance is here to help you.
