Activism That Works

Welcome to 2023! Together, the efforts of Swing Blue volunteers in 2022 resulted in nearly 600,000 volunteer actions, in New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Many of you also helped out on campaigns run by other organizations in Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada. Check out the full results, including details on what worked and what did not work in each of Swing Blue's state campaigns.

Planning for 2023 and 2024

With our victory over the predicted "Red Wave" behind us, it's time for clear-eyed planning for this year, for the 2024 election, and beyond. There are several crucial special elections in swing states in 2023, and many opportunities to build progressive power for 2024.

Many thanks to everyone who gave us feedback on the volunteer survey form in December. Our volunteers are highly motivated to do what they can to save democracy and advance progressive values. Comments included:

  • The energy and commitment of the entire organization is inspiring.
  • It's great that Swing Blue builds partnerships with those in other states.
  • Studies aimed at learning what works are crucial.

Responses offered very useful advice for how Swing Blue can improve, including:

  • Continue to focus on projects whose efficacy is clear and/or can be studied.
  • Redouble our efforts at the state legislative and state judicial levels.
  • Do more research to identify issues/arguments that resonate at the local level in critical swing states.

If you haven't had a chance to tell us your ideas and suggestions, we're still eager to hear from you!

Newsletter Bi-Weekly

As the Swing Blue planning team prepares for future projects, we will be sending out this newsletter every other week for the next few months. All are welcome to check out The Swing Blue Alliance calendar any time for ongoing activities.
