SUPERSTATE
PA HD-18 Election
Winning Local = Winning the White House
Your Chance to Help Swing PA
The Dems are just 9 seats away from turning the PA State House blue. The work starts now, with a special election in House District 18 (HD-18) on March 17 in Bucks County.

Help us flip HD-18 by canvassing the weekend before the election on March 14-15.

Join the fight at any of these events:

March 14-15: GOTV Weekend of Action

February 17: Organizing call for volunteers going (or thinking of going) to the March 14-15 GOTV Weekend of Action. Even if you can’t go to PA, you can learn a lot about the effort on this call.

February 29-March 1: Trip to Bensalem to register voters and attend March 1 kickoff of Susan Wild’s re-election campaign

MA for PA Kickoff
More than 30 fired-up activists joined the Swing Left Greater Boston’s Pennsylvania Strategy Kickoff on February 8. Co-coordinators Bob Scheier and Ann Eldridge described the critical need to reverse Donald Trump’s 44,000-vote victory in this key swing state in 2016.

The team is driving turnout in Lehigh Valley, collaborating with local organizations to increase turnout in Democratic (but under-voting) Latino communities. Volunteers are also conducting an aggressive schedule of letter-writing, postcarding, and texting events, as well as regular canvassing trips to the state.

CALL TO ACTION
ShowBlueLove
Keep the #ShowBlueLove flowing
Love Doesn’t End on Valentine’s Day
The Swing Left Greater Boston #ShowBlueLove campaign has already raised almost $5,300 for the future Democratic President of the United States. But love — and the campaign — are not restricted to one day a year.

All of us can #ShowBlueLove for Dems by asking 20 friends to give $20 for 2020. Every dollar you give goes to nominated candidates who can win in Swing States.

If you’ve sent the first email, it’s time to send the reminder. Otherwise, reach out to friends and family and get 20 to give $20 for 2020.

It’s easy with our sample email and easy, intuitive instructions. Get started.

WHAT ELSE?

The Senate won’t flip itself!
NEEDED: A new Maine Senator in 2020 and an Organizer with the Maine Democratic Party to guide volunteers toward that goal.
Donate $250, $500, $1,000, $2020, or whatever you can!
Postcard Writing at Democracy Brewing
“If I can do it, anyone can!”

“We just called, asked them for a table for 10, and said we’d be doing some letter writing. That’s how Democracy Brewing ended up hosting nine of us for a letter-writing event. The food was good, the service was friendly, and they said it would be OK for us to come again.”

What’s Cambridge Activist Afternoons?

The turnout on Sundays at Cambridge Activist Afternoons has grown, topping 110+ volunteers last week. Thanks to our wonderful organizers, volunteers can write letters and postcards, make phone calls, send texts, and participate in training and planning.

We’re in Central Square, Cambridge, and open every Sunday, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, with potentially extended hours as we inch closer to November.   Join the effort, join the fun!
