We will be calling South Asian voters in service of three goals:
A Georgia County commissioner race is going to be the first partisan race in Georgia since the election in 2024. Getting people out to vote in this race will instill within them the habit of voting and make them more likely to turn out in 2026, when we need to re-elect Jon Ossoff to the US Senate.
The Senate is also slated to consider the SAVE Act (S128) , which would disenfranchise millions of voters and especially married women whose last names do not match their birth certificates. We will be calling swing states with Republican Senators to express opposition.
Elon Musk and DOGE are currently stopping money that has already been contracted out to communities to pay for anti-hunger nonprofits and clean water supply from being spent. Furthermore, not only is the Trump administration proposing massive cuts to medical research, the process of issuing grants to universities for research is being delayed. The administration is also considering significant cuts to the department of Health and Human services which would severely hamstring the safety net. We will be calling swing districts with Republican representatives to express opposition.
