NORTHAMPTON, MA – Planning Meeting for In-Person Protests – Connecticut River Valley

Lots of folks have come out to the Mountain Park Access Road overpass over I-91 since March 4th!

There’s a lot of energy to do things, and a lot of people coming out. Now let’s figure out what else we want to do.

More letterboards? Lots more bridges? Bridges over the Mass Pike? Signs and banners in front of Social Security? Picketing the local Fox news station (FOX LIES!)? Picketing Fox advertisers? Street theater and spectacle? Gala musical events? What do YOU want to do? And, can you think of some great locations?

Let’s figure out what we’re doing next!

Come to the April 17th meeting at 6pm at the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum at Forbes Library, 20 West St., Northampton MA. If we need it, we have the room until 7:45pm, when the library begins to close.

Draft Agenda

• Brief summary of what’s happened since March 4th
• “Blue sky-ing” what we could do with all the time and resources and people and everything we needed, without any limitations whatsoever. We’ll write it all down, holding off on judgment (for the moment). Nothing’s too out-of-bounds. Wild ideas are especially welcome.
• Discernment – now’s the time for judgment. What does this group want to do? Let’s pick some things, and get busy!
• Small group work to move specific projects forward

Parking

Parking is available on the street (meters fund town services) or behind the library (meters fund library book purchases) or on the top level of the Smith Parking Garage next to the library (free parking on top level).
