The Sneakers Laced Up crew is getting back together to cause some good trouble this Friday, February 28th, with the Stop MuskRats rally. Join the team at Dandelion Park at 1869 Main Street (Rt. 139) in Marshfield center from 2:00 to 3:00 as we protest Elon Musk’s illegal takeover of our personal private date and our government. It’ll be a great time getting support from friends, waving to cars to call attention to our signs, and generating awareness in our community about what is going on with our personal and private data and to our Federal government.
If you are interested in joining, please RSVP online. Participants in the rally will be standing at Dandelion Park in Marshfield Center waving at cars as they pass by for about an hour. The team is asking participants to bring their own homemade signs with slogans expressing support for our national government and outrage at the illegal actions of Elon and his uncontrolled crew. Please be as creative as you can be, but keep the signs G-rated. The team hopes to see you there.
The Sneakers Laced Up South Shore team is a nonpartisan grassroots citizen engagement group dedicated to participatory democracy and to progressive solutions for shared challenges. We founded this group inspired by President Obama’s speech, in which he urged people who had concerns about the nation’s direction to get off the sofa, speak out, lace up their sneakers, and take action. Our goal is to activate voters and to inform and educate the community toward getting involved so we can make our democracy work for the common good.
