Area Indivisibles are once again partnering together for a second grand coordinated standout that will reach the length of I91 from the CT to VT!
We are attempting to cover as many overpasses as we can on Friday, May 23rd from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
As part of this coordinated action, Rise Up Western Mass will be hosting two of the standouts.
This is the sign up and information for the Bark Haul Road Location.
The address Bark Haul Road will get you there if you’re using Waze. (Bark Haul Road is off Route 5.) The event is on the I-91 overpass. There’s plenty of parking, although you can’t park on the overpass. You can park in the turn off on Route 5 at the top of Bark Haul Road or in The Meadows at the bottom of Bark Haul. Both are maybe 1/4 mile walk to the overpass.
If You Bring a Sign, Banner, or Flag For sign and banner lettering, bigger is better, so it can be easily read from the roadway. Flags are great, too. Wouldn’t it be amazing to reclaim our flag?
The DOT does not like things attached to the fence. They may visit, so be prepared to not have anything attached. Never drape anything over the fence, even with ropes, because it would be very dangerous if it accidentally fell onto the highway.
Other Logistics No Port-A-Potties are available but there is a McDonalds nearby if needed. Please take everything you brought away with you and leave the site totally clean.
General I91 Standout Information
Come join like-minded folks to demand that Trump, Musk, and the Republican-led Congress stop their unconstitutional power grab and the cruel destruction of our federal government.
We will hold banners, signs, and flags, and we’ll wave to passing motorists. Many will beep and wave back at us, which feels nice! We’ll show people that they’re not alone and help give them the courage to join us and take a stand.
Please come out whether or not you have a sign or banner or flag. More people is better!
Come when you can and leave when you must. You needn’t be present for the entire time.
We may see a counter protester. If so, please DO NOT ENGAGE. Either ignore them or reply with “have a nice day”. Let’s spend our time and energy waving to motorists. Let’s keep things 100% non-confrontational in words and body language. As always all of our events are peaceful and non-violent.
We’re looking forward to meeting everyone. Let’s have some fun and make some good trouble!
