April Frontline Update Today!
If you’re reading this before 10 am on Saturday, put down the newsletter and attend this morning's Frontline Update. We’ll give you the latest on our voter registration, texting campaigns, internal teams that are changing the game, and AZ action.
Come hear how NC Democrats are fighting back at this month’s All In for NC meeting. You’ll meet NC’s Democratic Leader of the State House Robert Reives and three outstanding candidates for the NC State House.
Speaking of gerrymandering, now is the time to help Ohio voters fight for fair and equitable representation. Let Democrats know about the petition drive to get fair districting on the ballot in the fall election.
Research shows that registering likely Democratic voters is one of the most effective ways to generate net Democratic votes up and down the ballot, as explained in this video by the Field Leaders Research Network.
Here are some great opportunities for you to increase Democratic voter registration across the country.

CALL: Recruit Volunteers in NC
On-the-ground volunteers are incredibly effective at reaching Democrats in purple and red states. Here’s your chance to encourage avid Dems in NC to join the cause and help register voters in Charlotte/Mecklenburg County.
Working in conjunction with Field Team 6 (FT6), Swing Blue Alliance is texting unregistered but likely Democrats in key swing states to help them register to vote. We will use a method developed by FT6 that is free and flexible; texters use their computers, not their own phones. We are currently working on Congressional District PA01, a flippable district that Biden won by 6 points but is currently held by a Republican.
SBA volunteers have already been registering voters in Arizona and have made exploratory trips to Pennsylvania. Next – armed with what we have learned in these previous trips – we’re headed for Montgomery County, PA. Consider joining those who have already signed up for the weekends of May 3-5, May 15-17, and May 31-June 2.
Young people are concerned about climate change, gun safety, racial justice, bodily autonomy, and economic opportunity. Registering to vote is the first step in empowering them to take action. Host a postcard campaign to reach parents in AZ, urging them to encourage their teenagers to vote. Postcards go out May 15 and June 15.
Here’s another opportunity to help volunteers: We're writing to Dem voters ahead of the state primary in Virginia. Postcards will go out to 51,000 registered community-of-color voters in VA Congressional District 2 in support of Elaine Luria; she was the two-term Congressperson in CD-02 before she was unseated in 2022. You and your postcarders can help get her back in office. Postcards go out between April 26 and June 3.
Attend the May 5 Activist Afternoons. Among a variety of projects available that day, you can try out the Mecklenburg County phone bank (see article above) with help at your side.
Swing Blue Alliance and Swing Left North/Shore Cape Ann are fundraising for The States Project programs in Arizona and North Carolina, where the balance of the state legislature is at a tipping point. Defending or flipping just a few seats is within reach withearly funding now.
The States Project will pass your donations to the most effective and viable Democrats in those states. A state legislative campaign usually costs less than 3% of a competitive U.S. Senate race, which means your donations go further in these races.
Jacob Himelfarb picked SBA for a summer internship because he believes we are making a real impact. We chose him because he wants "to get his hands dirty and see what the organization really does.” Read more.

Arizonans cast 2.5 million votes for their choice of Attorney General. The winner – by only 280 votes – was Democrat Kris Mayes, who who has vowed not to enforce the draconian abortion ban. Mayes, who is single-handedly upholding abortion rights in the state, won – byonly 280 votes.
If every reader of this newsletter helped get ten more Democrats to the polls, think of what a difference to the country we would make!
