Canvass in Dover

Be the First to Canvass in NH!

With spring weather, Win Blue NH is eager to get outside and knock on doors. Face-to-face conversations are the most effective way to reach voters. In-person voter contact builds relationships, enabling individuals to see the power they have at the ballot box.

Walk and talk in NH!

Sat, Apr 9 @ 10 am or 1 pm ET -- you pick!

Saturdays, Apr 23, May 7, and May 21 @10 am - 1 pm ET

Postcards to Georgia

Georgia on Our Minds

The data indicate that Georgia plays a key role in protecting the Dem’s hold in Washington. So, yet again, Georgia's on our minds. And we’re not waiting for November!

Early voting in the Georgia primaries starts on May 2, and Swing Blue Alliance is encouraging African Americans to vote early. Voting early is one way to avoid (likely) discrimination at the polls on Election Day.

SBA’s goal is to send 18K postcards to Black voters in Columbia County by April 25. Can you help us get there? It's easy to distribute postcards:

  • Place your order for postcards at the SBA eStore
  • Invite friends and family (and/or post your event online to expand your pool of volunteers)
  • Pick up and divide the cards into packs of 25
  • Make the cards available for postcard writers on any day you choose

Put Georgia in the hearts and minds of SBA volunteers!

Will Writing Postcards Make a Difference?

Whether you write postcards or letters, both voter outreach methods have similar rates of effectiveness and impact. So, how do you select the right campaign for your volunteer groups? What clues do the data on past mailing campaigns contain?

Recruit volunteers in PA

Call PA and Get the Ball Rolling!

What if you -- and every volunteer you know -- could recruit just one other volunteer in a swing state? What if that one activist could recruit one other activist, and so forth? And every one of you -- right down the line -- prompted just one Democrat in a red or purple state to vote in November?

All we all need to do to protect the White House, the Senate, and the House from the Republican onslaught is to get the ball rolling. Volunteers T*B*D (Taking Back Democracy) is where to start.

As part of the Volunteers T*B*D Calling Corps, you will recruit experienced volunteers in swing states. These local activists become the conduit to on-the-fence, low-propensity, and currently unregistered voters in states that will make the difference in the November elections.

These individuals have insight into their counties, cities, and electorates and ultimately ensure voters get the information they need to make the best decisions. And you have the power to bring them back in action.

Recruit one volunteer in a swing state and get the ball rolling.

Save the Date

SBA All Volunteer Roundup April 24

This month, Swing Blue Alliance and All in for NC are highlighting their partnership with County-to-County, an all volunteer organization doing everything it can to take back the state legislature in North Carolina.

Activist Training:
Slack and Zoom
Breakout Rooms

As an SBA host/organizer, you recognize the importance of communication with each other and with your volunteers. The next two weeks of training are just what you need to make the job easier! Slack gives you a way to keep up-to-date with other people who have the same responsibilities and interests as you. Zoom Breakout Rooms allow you to give some volunteers the specific support they need, without holding back the others.

April 9: Get In-the-Know With Slack

Find out why so many activists use Slack. With your own sign-in, you can cruise channels by topic, search for info, ask questions, and contact other volunteers directly. All without dealing with one-to-one emails and texts. At this training session, you will learn how to:

  • Integrate Slack with your email so you don't have two information streams to manage
  • Move conversations to Slack to avoid leaving members of your group out of the conversation
  • Learn how to use direct messages, avoiding the need to text someone
  • Use Slack's directory features to look up email addresses more easily

Sat, Apr 9 @ 11 am ET

April 16: Zoom Breakout Room Practice

If you host Zoom meetings, you probably recognize the value of Breakout Rooms, but yo9u might be hesitant to use them. Here’s a great opportunity to practice creating Zoom breakout sessions. Get together with others at this Grassroots Information Center (MAGIC) session that will allow you to practice all aspects of Breakout Rooms.

This class includes a quick review of the Breakout Room process and real-time practice of:

  • Creating, opening, and closing Zoom rooms
  • Assigning and moving people to and from rooms
  • Joining rooms yourself

Everyone will get a chance to practice.

Sat, Apr 16 @ 11 am ET

Both sessions are co-hosted by Indivisible Acton Area, Swing Blue Alliance, and Indivisible Mass Coalition in collaboration with volunteers at the MAssachusetts Grassroots Information Center, a Slack workspace for exchanging information, encouraging connections among groups, and building activist momentum across the state. Join the News-MAGIC Slack space today.
