Swing Left volunteers seeking to build the Blue wave for 2020 hosted dozens of events across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine this week. Angel Butts, a new volunteer at Swing Left Maine, hosted a debate watch party at Dollar Deweys, a bar in downtown Portland. Two hours into the event, the camera crews from the local TV station arrived.
A surprised and elated Angel posted on social media: “My debate party is PACKED and a camera from Channel 8 is here now. Holy crap! I did a thing!”
