Hyannis - Cape Cod\, Oct 17\, 12-2 Hyannis Airport Rotary\, Hyannis\, MA DESCRIPTION:What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny\, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.
\nWe decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.
\nFor more than a year\, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings\, billionaires\, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
\nNow\, we are taking the next step\, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions\, No Kings: Vote Early\, is not purely a protest. Instead\, on October 17th\, it's a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
\nBecause no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th\, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones\, no crowns\, no kings.
\nNo Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.
\nWhen our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink\, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.
\nOn October 17th\, rise up\, take to the streets\, and say it loud: RISE UP\, FIGHT BACK\, WE WILL VOTE AND WE WILL VOTE EARLY!!! No one will stop us from exercising our right to vote.
\nAnd\, early voting begins the day of the protest! Go to your early voting location from 9am and then join us!
\nCape Cod Women for Change\, Mid-Cape Indivisible ARE SPONSORING THIS Event as part of the national No Kings Day national protest.
\nSpread the word to your trusted friends and neighbors. This will be the largest protest in American history\, continuing a time-honored tradition of non-violent\, democratic opposition to a rogue regime gone off the rails. We want peace and justice\, fairness and the Rule of Law.
\nThis is our opportunity to show the power of the people. We are stronger than they are. There are more of us. We will prevail.
\nJoin us October 17!
\nJoin us in community as we protest this fascist regime!
\nDress for the weather\, this protest will take place rain or shine here at the Hyannis Airport rotary\, and across the country.
\nPrepare to celebrate our growing army against this fascist oligarchic regime! It's important that we continue to send a message to Trump and MAGA that we are not going to back down.
\nThis will be a national protest\, and the participation may present logistical challenges unless you are prepared. Please CARPOOL if possible\, and do not block traffic to drop people off. Please park in places that do NOT interfere with open businesses. Do not use the CVS parking lot. If you are capable of walking\, the overflow at the Cape Cod Mall and the overflow at the Whole Foods (former K-Mart) plaza gives you crossing via crosswalks and sidewalk access. Do not park or walk through Luke's Liquor's Parking Lot - they don't want us near their business (remember that when you shop!)
\nThe airport allows for paid parking that is not too expensive\, $5 first hour $1 every hour after- $13 for 24 hrs. Airport parking gives access to several areas to stand.
\nDuring the protest we ask that you:
\n-Try not to cross roadways during the protest
\n-Respect and follow the instructions of safety marshals and police
\n-Don't engage with counter protestors
\n-And enjoy these two hours together like millions of others across the country and around the world!
\nIt is helpful to know your rights and understand de-escalation – here are trainings given by ACLU before previous No Kings: -https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ji4Z4W2NV4U -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSKENhoOx0s&t=575s
\nHere is a pdf of tips about de-escalation: https://capecodwomenforchange.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/desecalation-tactics-aclu.pdf
\nWe are not going to have guest speakers so we aren't asking people to cross roadways to hear them.
\nMusicians are invited to attend!
\nCostumes are welcome\, we have several blow-up character costumes or bring your own.
\nBring your sign or hold one of our many flags or signs.
\nPhotography is welcome\, this is a public space.
