Issue #197

The Swing Blue Alliance community weeps with the people of Uvalde and Buffalo, and we cry out in anger at the intransigence of Republicans who refuse to pass legislation to protect Americans from gun violence and racism.

While mass shootings can occur anywhere, they are less likely to occur in Massachusetts. Thanks in part to strict gun control laws, our state has the lowest per capita rate of firearm deaths in the continental U.S. These laws will stand so long as Democrats retain control of one of our three branches of government. But in a post 2024 world, a Republican government could make unfettered gun ownership the law of the land. And so we fight.

Swing Blue Alliance Outdoor Roundup

Thanks to all who joined us at the 5/22 All Volunteer Roundup. We had a great potluck with 72 people attending. The weather held out and it was energizing to spend time together, outdoors, in person! Check out the photos! The highlight was hearing how Swing Blue Alliance is seizing the momentum to campaign for the midterms like it's 2024. Also our teams crushed it in the trivia game!

Turn New Hampshire Blue in '22!

Want to meet two rising stars in New Hampshire’s Democratic firmament who will explain how we will turn NH Blue in ’22? Then sign up for the Win Blue NH Monthly meeting on Monday, June 6 at 7 pm.

Matt Wilhelm is a NH State Rep, who was cited as one of the NH Union Leader’s “Forty Under 40” trailblazers and serves as the Chair of the NH House Dems Victory Committee. Matt will share his strategy for flipping the NH House & Senate while also winning federal elections.

Emma Mintz is a former litigator who directs the NH Dems Voter Protection team. As part of the voter protection group for Georgia’ s high-stakes run-off election, Emma helped to elect Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. She will explain how out-of-state volunteers like us can help protect the vote.

Mon, June 6 @ 7 pm ET

Postcards to Moderate Women

Messaging to Moderate Women

Our newest postcarding project is a collaboration with Galvanize Action, reaching out to moderate conservative women in the key states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, to learn which messages can move them in a progressive direction.

At the online kickoff on 5/24, we heard from Deanna Hobbs of Galvanize Action. Deanna explained the psychology and neuroscience-based research that underlies how Galvanize Action reaches key voters, building a durable majority for progress and countering fear and anger-based messaging.

If you are willing to host a postcarding event for this exciting project, register to receive a packet that includes postcards and address labels. If you can't host, stay tuned to learn how you can participate in sending postcards.

Cards must be mailed no earlier than June 21 and no later than June 28
