How Will NH Dems Make Sure Every Vote Counts?

You’ve probably seen the scary headlines: “New Hampshire Republicans churn out voter suppression bills.” “NH House passes ‘affidavit ballot’ legislation.” And more. So how will NH Dems ensure that every vote counts?  You’ll find out at our Win Blue NH Monthly meeting on Monday, June 6th at 7 PM. Emma Mintz, Director of Voter Protection for the NH Dems, will explain NH’s plans for voter protection and will also explain what role we can play as out-of-state volunteers. Emma comes to NH after participating in the high stakes Voter Protection team that oversaw the Georgia runoff that elected Senators John Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.

Our other speaker, NH State Representative Matt Wilhelm, is leading the effort to flip the NH House. He serves as the Senior Assistant Democratic Leader and chairs the NH House Democratic Victory Campaign Committee. Flipping the NH State Legislature is essential to preventing further erosion of education, abortion, voting rights and social services.

Protect kids not guns

We Fight to End Gun Violence

Despair is not an option in the face of the continuing horrors perpetuated by the epidemic of gun violence in the US.  Since the racist shooting in Buffalo just two weeks ago, there have been more than fifteen other shootings with more than four victims, including the Uvalde TX murder of nineteen children and two teachers.

On June 11, millions across the country will join March for Our Lives to rally for an end to this madness.  Indivisible MA Coalition reports that the rally in Boston will be one of the largest in the nation, and it is entirely youth-directed! They could use volunteers to help organize the Boston event.

Meanwhile, June 3-5 is Wear Orange Weekend.  Show your support by wearing orange and/or attending a local Wear Orange Event.

Listening in Dark Times

Listening in the Darkest of Times

How do we move forward when times seem so dark?  Many people are in a dark place right now.  They have been through a lot in the last couple of years.  The polls show that people are in despair, isolated, and suffering from a deep, deep cynicism.

This is why the images designed for our new 'Be the Momentum' campaign by by Julia Dunlea are dark.  Dramatic. Ads that are cheery don’t fit. Talking points don’t work. Neither does talking at people.

Luckily, we all know what does work. It’s what we do naturally when we are connecting with people who are feeling down. We listen.

Listening is at the heart of every aspect of our campaign to build momentum for key elections. As we take direct action to win in November 2022, we make sure these actions are building coalitions for the future.

Organizer Training: Designing Emails for Maximum Impact

Are your emails to your group being speared by spam filters, getting lost in the crowd, or falling into an abyss of apathy? Hang on! There's a lot you can do to get through to your readers. We will demonstrate using the Action Network, but MailChimp users and others are welcome. In this hands-on class, we will:

  • look at your "standard" email template that you normally send out
  • discuss ways to improve it
  • show how to test to see whether you are getting better results

Thurs, June 9 @ 5 pm EDT
