How do activist organizations know they are effective? In the summer of 2021, Swing Blue Alliance and other grassroots groups across the country founded Field Leaders Network for Research and Innovation. The Network is exploring ways to deploy and measure the effectiveness of activists' efforts on influencing election returns.
Here are some events that will definitely fit your interests.
Win Blue NH Monthly Meeting
Hear from leaders of Win Blue NH as well as Andrea Nemececk, New Hampshire's Coordinated Campaign Director. They’ll tell you about Dem’s successes in NH already this year. They will also explain our goals for 2022 and how we are going to achieve them.
Sat, Feb 26 @ 1 - 3 pm ET Mon, Feb 28 @ 5 - 7 pm ET Wed, Mar 2 @ 5 - 7 pm ET Sat, Mar 5 @ 1 - 3 pm ET
Recruit PA Volunteers
Re-engage inactive volunteers in swing states who have been instrumental in winning past elections. It's a worthy task because local activists already have on-the-ground experience and connections. Volunteers T*B*D (Taking Back Democracy) is an extremely successful campaign (see last week’s newsletter) that uses active listening techniques to build relationships with on-the-ground Democrats.
Fridays @1:40 pm ET for newcomers; @ 2 pm ET for callers
All In for NC Monthly Meeting
Do you know what All In for NC is doing to flip NC legislatures? One tactic is to court LatinX voters. Leaders of Siembra NC and PODER NC will update us on the status of redistricting and candidate filings.
Both sessions are co-hosted by Indivisible Acton Area, Swing Blue Alliance, and Indivisible Mass Coalition in collaboration with volunteers at the MAssachusetts Grassroots Information Center, a Slack workspace for exchanging information, encouraging connections among groups, and building activist momentum across the state. Join the News-MAGIC Slack space today.
Swing Blue Alliance (formerly Swing Left Greater Boston) is the largest all-volunteer Democratic grassroots organization headquartered in Massachusetts. We use proven methods to protect our Democracy, work on competitive local and national elections, and strengthen the Democratic party at the grassroots level.
