Text to Increase Turnout for Florida Congressional Seat – Special Election

The Democratic majority in the US House of Representatives is razor thin and Republicans are mounting a serious challenge in this first in the nation 2022 election to gain a US Congressional seat.

Help keep the Congressional seat held by the late Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings (FL-CD20) Democratic. A special election to fill Rep. Hastings seat is being held on January 11th. Democrats have a very strong candidate with Sheila Cherifus-McCormick but she needs our help to get voters out.

Swing Blue Alliance is collaborating with the Broward County Democratic Party (BDP) and supporting their local campaign and get-out-the-vote drive.

We will be texting Democratic voters who haven’t returned their vote-by-mail ballots. We will be asking them to return their ballots to secure drop boxes to ensure that their vote is counted.The BDP uses the Moveon Spoke platform for texting and our volunteers will be trained and supported by the BDP Field Director, Ryann Greenberg. No prior experience with texting is required. While it’s possible to use your cell phone, we’d recommend that you use your computer.

  -Time per 1000 voters for initial send is around 30 mins. (Can be done on Cell but Computer is preferable particularly for first time texters).
• Respond to voters later the same day, 15-30 Mins.
• Respond to voters the day after initial send, 15-30 minutes
• Check back twice a day for the next 5 days to ensure that you respond to voters messages. 15-30 mins/day.
