The most important thing we can do in Pennsylvania to win the election is to register new voters. And where do you find young unregistered voters all in one place at the same time? At college campuses during Welcome Week, of course.
We are lucky enough to be partnering with Project 26 PA, a group that is well recognized on PA campuses as ambassadors of civic engagement and voter registration. Their goal is to register 10-12,000 students during Welcome Weeks and they need all the help we can offer.
Of all the schools we volunteered with in August, Temple University was a standout. Our combined teams registered 539 Students during the 5 days of Welcome Week. Thus, our decision to return during September and early October.
All the materials we need will be provided by Project 26 PA plus they will give us a brief review of filling out the voter reg v=form when we arrive.
To ensure that you are well trained and will be successful, we ask all volunteers to sign up for a 90-minute training session on September 9. You can sign up for that
HERE.
You should expect to spend 3 days at a time on campus registering voters, in conjunction with student organizers from our partner organization.
Being welcomed on a campus is a BIG DEAL. Don’t miss this golden opportunity! When your grandchildren ask how you helped preserve Democracy in 2024, you will definitely have a story to tell.
