The Learning Corner: Canvassing 101

With just 10 weeks to go before election day, Swing Blue is launching the AIM HI for the Midterms Pledge. When you sign the Pledge choosing the action you plan to take, Swing Blue will connect you with the tools you need to take your best next step for democracy.

  • Knock 100+ doors
  • Connect with family and friends in swing states
  • Join a weekly phone bank
  • Organize a postcard or letter-writing distribution
  • Send 300+ cards or letters to voters in swing states
  • Sign up to protect voters in the November election

If you want to be inspired by stories from current Swing Blue volunteers, check out the recording of last week's All-Volunteer Roundup. Kudos to storytelling coach Kim Weeter and her team of Swing Blue volunteers for making the Roundup "outstanding" and "very enlightening" with "great info given about plans to fight for democracy in the mid-terms."

The Swing Blue team working with Organize NH will be canvassing every weekend between now and November. Enjoy fall foliage while you save democracy! Talking to voters is the most effective way of winning elections.

Swing Blue Organizational Challenge

If you know any 18 - 30 year olds in AZ, FL, GA, MI, NC, NH, NV, OH, PA, WI and TX who support Blue causes but might need encouragement to turn out and vote on election day, this challenge is for you.

Join the Swing Blue Organizational Challenge and we will provide you with the tools you need to be that "cool aunt" who inspires young people to vote Blue. These 11 key states will Swing Blue if young people turn out to vote. You know that each vote matters, and we can show you how to make sure your young friends understand this too.

"I'm not a natural phone banker - I don't know who is," confesses phone banker extraordinaire Lakshmi. But the tedium is worth it, Lakshmi explains, for the joy that comes from joining with others to save democracy.

AIM HI by joining a phone bank where your impact is multiplied! By talking with potential on-the-ground volunteers in key swing districts, you'll be laying the groundwork for local canvassing and GOTV campaigns.

You know how in time travel stories, making one tiny change in the past can create a totally different present? Joining a phone bank now can be your tiny change that creates a totally different November.

Our postcard campaigns have impact. Swing Blue has chosen specific local races in swing states where our assistance can make all the difference for the candidates.

If you've written postcards to voters, now might be a good time to take the next step. Sign up to be a new Postcard Host and our postcard coaches will get in touch with information, mentoring and logistical support.

Want to write postcards but not ready to host? Join one of the events listed every week on the Swing Blue Alliance  Calendar.

Don't see a nearby location listed, but want to write a few packets of postcards/ letters? Fill out this form and our magic matchmakers will try to match you up with a local host.

Swing Blue Alliance is working with organizers in key swing districts to recruit voter protection volunteers. If you're interested in helping to protect the vote in November, fill out this form indicating your areas of interest.
